Subject: Who is the Antichrist?
Date: Sat, 12 Oct 2002 08:51:46 +0000
Hi,

My name is Caitlin, i'm a 16 year old girl from Australia. I just have to
say, i am truly amazed with your webpage. It is amazing. I have never, in
all my years on the internet, found a webpage which says everything i've
been dying to say since my Grandmother forced religion on me.
I stumbled on to your page, not by accident but out of curiosity. Sitting in
the car earlier today i suddenly had a great desire to write a book about
the antichrist. I often get inspired on whims like that, and most of the
time my ideas are more outlandish than that.
But i will admit it wasn't derived from simple random thinking. We drove
past the church one of my bestfriends used to attend. I remember, before she
ditched religion as well, she would preach to me about the 'antichrist.' A
man who would come to earth as Jesus reborn and wreak havoc and bring about
the apocolypse. At the time i thought it was a great story, and i believe it
would make an even better book. So, out of curiosity, i stumbled upon your
page. And, must i say it is quite enlightening. There is one thing i'd like
to know, who is the 'antichrist' supposed to be and when exactly will he
come about? That is, of course, assuming the antichrist is a person and not
simply a state of mind or belief.
Also, i would like to say your website has given me quite some insight into
the severity of the christin mind-set. Being from Australia, a  supposed
'multi-cultural' society, religion (or lack thereof) isn't such a big deal.
In my ignorance i guessed American to be the same way. I had no idea people
were willing to disown their children on account of their beliefs. Nor was i
aware christian fanatics would go to such lengths to maintain their hold on
society. I knew religion in itself was a very powerful and influencial tool,
but i didn't comprehend how many people would let themselves be so easily
brainwashed by it. The thought of complying to the wishes of a 'supreme
being' which, as you so often state, has not proven to be real, is just
obsurd. It is far beyond my comprehension how anyone could read a book and
accept it as reality, especially something as outlandish as the bible.
That's just like reading Harry Potter and convincing yourself you can make
magic by waving a wand and spouting some insane words. It just doesn't work
that way. I knew people were easily manipulated, but i never knew to such an
extent.
I understand now how frustrating it must be to live in a society which says
they must accept differences with grace, but would discriminate for
something as infinitestimal as lack of belief. But i, too, wish for the
christians to look down upon me and hurl insults at me ^_^ that's what kind
of person i am. Or at least help to educate the naieve. Plus, writing a book
about the Antichrist would certainly be a certaive rollercoaster. Because
it's such a controversial subject, i could write five books on it! Anyway my
rant will have to end here because this email in itself is becoming a book

Thank you for your time

Caitlin
