Subject: Because i was confused...
Date: Tue, 23 Sep 2003 01:49:29 +0000
Hello. My name is Cheyenne and I'm 15.  I wanted to thank you so much for
your website.  I knew before what i believed in and what i thought was right
and wrong and there was no one who could tell me differently but i still had
questions and i wondered where i fit in.  After i spent a while on your
website it seemed as though most of my questions were answered.  Being in a
very relgious family (my father and grandmother are both sunday school
teachers) it's sometimes hard to make up my own mind with relgion being
forced upon me.  Before reading your website i was terrified to tell my
father that i do not believe in God and that i will not be attending church
with him any more. I think i was affraid because i had reasons only they
were more personal rather than based on factual information. With the help
of your website and my personal information i feel that i am ready to tell
my father and be able to answer all his questions that will come along with
his counter-argument.  I just wanted to thank you again.

Hello. My name is Cheyenne or Shay and i'm 15. I do not and have never
believed in the exsistence of God. But it's hard for me to find answers
about things having to do with relgion because my Father and Grandmother
are hte Sunday school teachers for a church.  I want so badly to know
exactly where my beliefs fit in but i need help.  Do you think you could
e-mail me back and let me know what the difference is between Atheist and
Anti-Christ? Thank you so much for your time.

Hello Cheyenne,

First of all I love the name. Very beautiful. Ok, well the difference
between atheist and antichrist... First i would like to give the
dictionary's definitions.

1.) Atheist- one who denies the existence of God.
2.) Antichrist - 1 : one who denies or opposes Christ; specifically : a
great antagonist expected to fill the world with wickedness but to be
conquered forever by Christ at his second coming
2 : a false Christ

Ok in looking at the two, there is a difference. The difference in
definition is that 1 says, one who denies the existance of God. 2 says
denies or opposes Christ. If you look at it in the christian aspect then
there is no difference because they believe that god and christ are one
in the same. If you look at it the way that we as atheists and
antichrists look at it they mean this:

1.) Atheist- someone who denies the existance of any and all gods.

2.) Antichrist- someone who strives to rid the world of the christ meme
(thought virus).

I hope that helped you. If you dont understand just let me know and ill
try to give it the simplest break down I possibly can.

You (and people like you) are why we do it.  You're MORE than welcome!

Keep in mind, as with politics, (the left and the right), beliefs have
similar polarities.  Liberals do not think, they feel, and conservatives do not
feel, they think.  Theists do not think, they feel, and atheists do not feel,
they think.  Hard-core bible thumpers nor hard-core atheists are ideally the
way to be (neither extreme is good).  A well rounded individual is willing to
go through the motions of religious tenets, while knowing it's all a lie.  That
way, nobody gets hurt.  I have a feeling, going against your parents wishes as
a minor will only result in both YOU and THEM getting hurt.  :o(

My advice to _all_ minors is to at least pretend to believe what they
ram down your throat, until you reach the age of majority (18) whereupon you
_then_ tell them to get bent, and begin to express yourself as you see fit.  :o)

Please be sure to share your story here with us, it will eventually
make it up on the website, and may help others in your position.

Cheers!

Not to steal the answer from Rebecca, but the short answer is, anyone
who is not a christian is an antichrist.  Here are _all_ the christian bible
passages regarding who or what an antichrist is (only 4 passages).

1John.2:18 Little children, it is the last time; and as ye have heard that
antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know
that it is the last time.

1John.2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is
antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

1John.4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in
the flesh is not of God; and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have
heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

2John.1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that
Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Since you do not believe in god(s), you are an atheist.  However, for
those who believe in jesus, you are an antichrist.  To those who believe in
allah (muslims), you are an infidel, and those who believe in yahweh (jews),
you are a heretic.  Your label changes depending upon who addresses you.  ;o)

Dear James,
I just wanted to thank you and Rebecca so much for your time and for
your speedy answers to my e-mail.  Thanks to your website i was finally
able to let my father know who i really am.  Before this time he thought
i believed in god just as much as he did, being the Sunday school teacher
he would bring me to church with him every weekend.  But after coming
across your website and reading it's information i was able to further my
knowledge of the Christian relgion and i was also able to answer the
questions about my personal thoughts and beliefs and to where i fit in.
I approached my father with the subject last night, starting by asking
him questions about the Christian religion.  After i finished i told him
what i believed in and what i didn't believe in.  He was absolutely
shocked and almost appaled at the fact that his perfect little 15 year
old daughter would even think of something so "horrible".  After we
agrued he proceeded to ask me why i didn't believe in god, and if i knew
where i will go when i die if i don't accept him now,  and if i didn't
beg for forgiveness of my sins.  Finally i answered all the questions
that he had and the end of the conversation went something like this,
"Cheyenne , i have brought you up to be many things, being Christian
was one of them. You do though have a brian and a head to think with and
your obviously smart enough to make your own decisions, though this isn't
the path i would have chosen for you i'm glad that your able to think for
yourself and know where and what you want to be."  I just wanted to thank
you again for helping me to stop living a lie, and letting my father (the
man who means more to me than anything in this world) know who i truly am.
