Hi James!

I just stumbled upon your website by chance, and thought it was a very
enjoyable read. I feel really sorry for all you atheists in the US of A.
You must be having a terrible time there, now that state and religion
are growing together more and more. I think I'm very lucky to be born in
The Netherlands where about 40% of the people do not belong to any group
that believes in imaginary friends. Still too few if you ask me, I think
the world would be a much better place if there were no religion at all,
or maybe 1%, just to make fun of.
But is it really that bad to be an atheist in the US? I mean, at least
you got something to rebel against, over here we don't really have
that...  You wrote somewhere that it's 'socially unacceptable'... What
exactly do you mean by that? I recently ordered a 'darwin fish' from
evolvefish.com and stuck it on my company van and everyone at work
thought it was very funny, what would be the typical reaction over there
in the US?
I also read that letter by the girl who said that she would be disowned
by her family and that she would lose a lot of friends if she would tell
them that she's an atheist. Just another nice example of christian
compassion.
I can't even imagine what it would be like to have to say that you live
in a nation 'under god' everyday in school, let alone that there's
mandatory prayer in some schools or that evolution is considered 'just a
theory' in school books, or to have a president that seems to regard
prayer as the number one solution for all major global problems... Ah,
I could go on for hours... But I won't, I got to go think of new ways to
take over the world with the evil atheist conspiracy... If anyone needs
any help converting imaginary friend worshippers, I'd gladly oblige...

Seeya,

Diederik.
