HiFreddie, i'd like to begin by introducing myself. My name is Nelson, I
live in North Carolina,...(smack in the middle of the southern baptist
bible belt). I am an atheist by definition. however my respect and
observance of scientific principle could be parallelled as a type of
religious observance. I have been following the site www.antichrist.net ,
and I have spent many many hours perusing the various items in the
motherload. I have also studied the treatises that you and your fellow
disciples have composed there. I wish to impart upon you my deepest
respects and admiration for your efforts. I have not had the pleasure of
such intellegent literature in some time indeed. Your abilities to
express your ideas truly astound me. I am as well quite thoroughly amused
at the reactions you ilicit from the fundies,..and the different
responses you and James impart upon them. I am left with the impression
it is something similar to a "good-cop,..bad-cop" routine with you and
James,...he being the Nice guy and you being the one who will simply lay
it right out there for em without all the niceties. Both of you have such
wit. The website is a really interesting format,...as you are bound to
draw the wrath upon yourselves with all the imagery. Christians are
usually known best for just that...their wrath. I am hoping that this
project you folks have got going will continue to stick around,...as it
is really unusual to see something that contains as much truth and logic
on the internet. This leads me to my question for you; are the numbers
for your ranks sealed? Would it be possible to contribute or even to join
your team as a loyal supporter? I feel this way: any person can sit on
the fence and watch the world turn around them,..but to come down on one
side or the other requires intestinal fortitude and a conviction born of
character. What I would bring to the table would be simply this: I am
much like James,..in that I prefer to maintain my eloquence and good old
fashioned manners. To me it is a stunnig success when the discussions
leave some fundie with no counter to my points,...and they reduce
themselves to what most christians do: that is,...they become
aggressive,..rude,...and often seek to eliminate opposition by way of
force or violence. This is where any thinking person will best see what
lies beneath,...and true colors come to bear. Your team has to me
mastered this, and perhaps it's just a desire of mine to be a part of
something that has real substance to it. If this is not possible,...I
understand,..nonetheless,..I shall hope we can at least share some type
of communications albeit however brief the constraints of time will
allow. I also would be most interested in any of those T-shirts you have
mentioned in the Motherlodes, as I am not ashamed nor afraid to represent
myself exactly for what I feel and not what is Politically correct. I'll
look forward to hearing from you folks, and I'll continue to read any new
postings that you might add to the site, and we'll all continue in our
efforts to eradicate the infectious little meme those poor Christ-puppets
