Dear James,
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this website and find it to be a bastion
of light against the darkness of stupidity that envelops the world today.
If you will excuse me as the first part of this email is using you as an
intermediary. I wish to respond to the mindless postings of 'Jeff',
'Jethro', 'Ryan', 'Kevin' or what ever he wants to be called. Christians
are mocking you too. Currently I am a Cadet at one of our nation's great
military institutes, training to lead the nation's military as an
accomplished officer. However and most importantly I am an atheist! The
majority of my buddies are Christians but they know and respect the fact
that I am an Atheist. I do not try to convert them, and they do not try to
convert me. However because you don't seem to know when to shut up, I've
decided to seek their insight as to what fellow Christians think of you.
They have called you an 'idiot incapable of forming simple sentences', 'A
mockery of religious dogma', and 'A fanatic who's lunacy speaks of volumes
of his ignorance'. Yes, these are your fellow Christians Jeff, mocking you
and they wish you would just shut up. Right about now clicking in your pea
sized brain is the instinct to retort my comments and attempt to deface my
friends. Don't even try! These men are my friends and comrades. We are
going off to serve this country with our lives, protecting your worthless
right to exist. We are echelons above you Jeff, you aren't even fit to lick
our boots let alone try and dispute our comments about your idiocy. You Jeff
are the worthless scum of our country. Personally I'd rather hunt down and
kill you any day, than a rag-head terrorist halfway around the world.
Knowing that my comrades are fighting and dying around the world right now
to preserve your freedom makes me sick.
Sorry bout that James, I had to get that off my chest before I could
continue. I've followed your site for quite some time, but I have held out
any comments until now. I made the decision to become a true atheist not to
long ago, approximately 5 years ago when I was 15. Like most I've had to
endure the religious socialization that society tries to impose on people,
especially now that I'm becoming a member of the armed forces. I know you
are against the idea of war, and are against the current presidency and its
agenda. However, I guess you could call me a political mess, since my
ideals are all over the place (some left and some right winged). I support
the war, as current news reports are finally showing the good that we are
accomplishing over seas freeing the people of Iraq, and their rejoicing in
Saddam's downfall. As for our leader's motivation, oil is not the
motivation for our liberating Iraq. It is as it is stated that we are
"liberating" Iraq, not annexing it for its oil. Will we have a major role
in rebuilding Iraq? Yes, we took the biggest risk in freeing it so we will
at least reap some reward for it. We have yet to raise our flag as a
conquer of Iraq, we have tried to convey the truth that when Saddam is gone
the Iraqi people will have their country back along with their freedom. Do
I support GW? Yes, he is a fellow Texan my former Governor and someone whom
I have met in person though it was still when he was Governor. Although it
does annoy me that he believes so blindly in the Christian religion that he
has banned stem-cell research.
Like you I follow the religion of science, and it has made my life so much
better since embarrassing it. Upon my graduation, I will most likely be
sent into a military laboratory, and will get to play with 'toys' the likes
most civilians would never get the chance to see let alone use. I support
your work here even if it is a performance art; it is still well thought out
and follows the truth. Currently the world is too weak minded to understand
and accept the truth, as it is quite a bit more bitter then their candy
coated religion. I would rather live a single day knowing the truth than an
eternity in a lie. If sometime you would care for a good discussion of
science or philosophy please let me know.
Best wishes and a pleasant day,
-Wes
